The district police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a woman advocate belonging to Pataudi town in neighbouring Gurugram district. The accused have been identified as Jaswant, alias Ashu, of Bawdi Mohalla in Pataudi and Raman of Gadaipur village in Gurugram.

The woman’s body was found lying in a pool of blood near a canal passing through Ram Garh village here two days ago. The body bore multiple injuries marks inflicted by a sharp-edged object.

Gaurav Raj Purohit, Superintendent of Police (SP), Rewari, said the police, on getting information about the crime, had rushed to the spot on November 26 and initiated efforts to ascertain the identity of the deceased woman. Later, her family identified her as Sarita of Bawdi Mohalla in Pataudi town. A case under Sections 103 (1) and 238 (A) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered on the complaint of the woman’s father, Bhagwan Dass, he added.

“During the investigation, the Crime Branch-1 Rewari and Sadar Police conducted a joint operation and arrested Jaswant and Raman in the case on Wednesday. During interrogation, Jaswant disclosed that he had brought the woman along with his friend Raman here. Later, the woman was killed with some sharp- edged object,” said Gaurav, while interacting with the media here on Thursday.

He said further information would be taken from the accused during their police remand.
