The Gurugram police have arrested two persons for extorting money from e-rickshaw drivers. Officials have recovered Rs 7,500 in cash and two needles from them.

According to the police, the accused were identified as Babli, alias Bobby, and Deepak, alias DT, both residents of Nathupur village.

The police said they had received a complaint, stating that some people were extorting money from e-rickshaw drivers near the metro station, and if the drivers refused to give them money, they would beat them up and puncture the tyres of their vehicles.

“An FIR was registered , following which the accused were arrested,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
