Two persons were injured in an encounter with the police near Aanwal village in Rohtak district on Wednesday evening. Acting on a tip-off, a police team reached the location near the village. Two youths present there allegedly fired at the police team, following which the policemen also fired at them.
The youths, identified as Sombir and Sumit, received bullet injuries in the encounter. They were admitted to the Trauma Centre of the Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences.

The police are examining the background and track record of the injured youths, who are suspected to be involved in some cases of theft and loot.
