According to sources, Mohinder, who worked in an industrial area in Kala Amb, had given Sudesh a lift on his motorcycle near Sadikpur village. Around 9 am, while travelling on the Kala Amb-Sadhaura road near Asgarpur village, a truck allegedly rammed into them from behind.

The impact of the collision proved fatal for Mohinder, who died on the spot. The truck also hit Varun’s motorcycle, causing him severe injuries. Sudesh Devi was rushed to a hospital in Nahan, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

“The truck ran over both Mohinder and Sudesh, killing Mohinder instantly,” said an eyewitness.

The truck driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. Police officials reached the spot after being informed and took Mohinder’s body into custody for post-mortem. The truck has been seized and efforts are underway to trace the driver.

Amit Kumar, SHO, Sadhaura police station, confirmed that the bodies of Mohinder and Sudesh had been handed over to their families after post-mortem. "A case has been registered against the truck driver and further investigation is in progress," he said.
