UHBVN team attacked by residents in Naraingarh, case registered

The Naraingarh police in Ambala district registered a case against five persons for allegedly attacking a team of employees from the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) during an inspection drive to detect electricity theft in a dera in Naraingarh.

“The police have registered a case under Sections 121 (1), 132, 190, 191 (3), 221 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, against Liyakat Ali, Yashin, Sukardeen, Mustkim and Neki Mohammad on the complaint of Dalip Singh, SDO, UHBVN,” said the police.

As per the information, a team led by Junior Engineer (JE) Sunil Kumar, along with lineman (LM) Ravi Singh, LM Pushpak Sharma, assistant lineman (ALM) Sachin Saini, ALM Sanjeev Kumar, and ALM Deepak raided a dera to check power theft. The team members were allegedly attacked by a group of people with iron rods, axes, and wooden sticks to assault the officials, which resulted in injuries to employees.
