The Shivalik Vikas Manch, a social organisation, has demanded the upgrade of Naraingarh and Raipur Rani as district and sub-division, respectively.

In a communication to Haryana minister Krishan Lal Panwar, chairman of a high-level committee formed by the Haryana Government for redrawing of the administrative boundaries, Vijay Bansal, chairman of the manch, demanded that while several towns with less population and area had been made districts, Naraingarh had been ignored by successive governments. He claimed that earlier several ‘similarly situated’ sub-divisions such as Nuh, Charkhi Dadri and Fatehabad had been upgraded as the districts.

He claimed that thousands of people had to travel at least 40 km from Naraingarh to Ambala for routine administrative works.

Similarly, Raipur Rani should also be upgraded as a sub-division on the pattern of several other sub-divisions like Manesar, Nilokheri, Israna and Nangal Chaudhary.
