In his inaugural address, he emphasised that such programmes played a crucial role in the holistic development of students and pre-service coaches by combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. He further stated that strength and conditioning were essential components of modern sports science, vital for improving athletic high performance and preventing injuries.

Professor (Dr) Yogesh Chander, Dean of Academic Affairs and organiser of the workshop, welcomed all guests and participants, highlighting that the university regularly organised such workshops to enhance the technical skills and professional competence of sports university students. The workshop was conducted in two sessions: a theoretical session and a practical session. The first session focused on the scientific principles of sports training, muscle development and exercise techniques, while the second session involved demonstrations of core training, emphasising core activation, balance and stability. The experts described the core as the body’s “kinetic chain,” fundamental to efficient movement and athletic performance.
