Uttam Singh, a 2015-batch IAS officer, has taken charge as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Karnal, promising focus on addressing the concerns of the general public and ensuring a transparent electoral process.

Singh said his priority would be to tackle pressing issues being faced by residents. He said he would ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every citizen, while promising swift resolution of local grievances and civic concerns.

The new DC outlined plans for expediting the completion of various developmental projects, including those under the Smart City initiative. “I have joined today and will review the progress of different ongoing projects. I will ensure all projects are completed in the fixed time frame,” he said.

He said as the elections were approaching, it was his priority to conduct them in a transparent and fair manner. He assured a thorough review of electoral arrangements to safeguard the integrity of the democratic process, urging citizens to exercise their fundamental right to vote.
