The police have registered a case against nine persons, including a former Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Chaudhary Devi Lal University in Sirsa, for allegedly appointing a reader illegally.

The complainant, Dr Sambhav Garg of Jagadhri, said the CDLU had advertised three posts of lecturer in business administration on a regular basis in 2006 while mentioning that the number of posts could be increased without assigning any reason. He said the interviews were conducted for recruitment on August 5, 2007. — TNS
