Vegetable seller among 2 held for raping minor in Faridabad
The police have arrested two persons for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in the Surajkund area here. A case under the POCSO Act has been registered in this regard.
A police official said the accused, identified as Prem Pal (33), took the victim to a guest house on his two wheeler and committed the crime. The second accused, identified as Gurung (40), has also been booked under Section 17 of the Act as he had not registered his name in the register of the guest house. The police, which registered a case on the basis of the complaint filed by the victim’s mother on January 18, arrested both of them. While Prem Pal is a vegetable seller and hails from Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, Gurung, originally a native of Nepal, lives in Sector 46 here.
The two wheeler used in the crime was also impounded. Both accused had been sent to judicial custody after
initial interrogation, said the police.
