In a fresh move against illegal mining, a special police team on Saturday seized a tractor-trailer loaded with illegally mined stones in the Nizampur area of Mahendragarh district. The operation is part of an ongoing crackdown on unauthorised mining activities across the region.

The tractor-trailer was intercepted in the Bayal area of Nizampur, where the stones were being transported from a non-designated mining zone. The joint operation was carried out by personnel from the Nizampur police station and a specially formed enforcement team, which had launched a targeted checking drive in the area.

The vehicle was challaned under the Motor Vehicles Act and subsequently confiscated by the Mining Department.

Superintendent of Police Pooja Vashisth has directed all station house officers (SHOs) and police post in-charges to take firm action against those involved in illegal mining.

“A dedicated team has been deployed to carry out regular raids at suspected mining sites, reinforcing Mahendragarh police’s commitment to ending illegal mining in the region,” said a district police spokesperson.
