Vij orders probe into Hisar electrocution incident

Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij has ordered probe into the deaths of three individuals after coming in contact with an 11 kV power line in Hisar.
Taking serious note of the incident, Vij has suspended junior engineer Punjab Singh.

Speaking to reporters, Vij said a two-member committee comprising the Director (Operations) and Director (Projects) would investigate the matter. “Strict action will be taken on the basis of inquiry report,” said Vij, adding that such incidents won’t be taken lightly.
The incident occurred after a conductor from the MG Club feeder, connected to the 33 kV Sub-Station in Sector 1/4, snapped and fell near Darshan Academy School on Mirzapur Road, Hisar.
Bunty (26), Raj Kumar (31) and Amit (15) lost their lives after accidentally touching the wire.

Offering condolences, Vij said the aggrieved families would be compensated.
Vij pointed out that waterlogging had affected several sub-stations in Hisar. He directed officials to identify such vulnerable stations and raise their floor levels before the next monsoon.
