Haryana's Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Anil Vij said work on the new unit of Yamunanagar’s thermal power plant is underway and the tender process is already in progress.

Responding to media queries in Yamunanagar on December 11, Vij said the government is committed to finishing the project within the stipulated timeline and ensure that the region’s growing power requirements are met. He also addressed improvements in Haryana Roadways, stating that new buses are being procured to enhance services.

Addressing the upcoming Congress rally against “vote theft” on December 14, Vij said the Congress is yet to clearly explain the basis of its claims. The polling agents represent political parties and the Election Commission allows a full month for voter list corrections, he added, challenging the Congress to show what actions it had taken against its own polling agents for failing to point out irregularities in voter lists.

Clapping back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s frequent accusations of the government being formed through fraud, Vij said that if voter lists were genuinely flawed, then even the Congress MLAs who won from those lists should resign since all candidates contested based on the official lists. He criticised the party for being ignorant and using the issue as an excuse to hide its weakness.

When asked about Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu’s controversial remark that the CM position could be bought for Rs 500 crore, the minister applauded her boldness and said that she has exposed the internal politics of the Congress.
