Vij sharpens attack on party, Saini; vents ire on X
Haryana Cabinet minister Anil Vij today launched a fresh attack against his party and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and accused some party leaders of working against him during the last Assembly elections.
Vij, who has been constantly venting his ire in public and on social media platforms, in a post on X wrote, “Ashish Tayal, who calls himself a friend of Nayab Saini, has many pictures with Nayab Saini on Facebook. The same workers who were seen with Ashish Tayal during the assembly elections were also seen with BJP’s opposing candidate Chitra Sarwara. What is this relationship called? Tayal is still Nayab Saini’s best friend, so the question arises who made him oppose BJP candidate?”
Asked about the post, the minister refused to comment, saying, “My post was self-explanatory.”
Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara was the runner-up in the election.
Vij had been unhappy with the party for not taking action against the leaders who worked against him in the elections. Though the party, on January 30, had issued a press note saying Tayal had been relieved from the post of district treasurer, Vij had termed the action as eye-wash and said, “The term had already expired and there was no point of relieving him from the post.”
Meanwhile, reacting sharply, Sarwara said, “It is unfortunate to see an elected member using words like traitor for voters in democracy. If a person who used to be his (Vij’s) supporter in the past and joined me in the election makes him traitor, then the minister should check the voter list and find 13,000 people who voted against him.”
“As per the connections made by the minister, all those who supported me, and also met Tayal are traitors. While adding to the list of traitors, Anil Vij has pointed towards his own Chief Minister. He should directly talk to the Chief Minister instead of making such statements. As long as Vij is in the BJP, the party doesn’t need any opposition in Haryana. He had conflict with the chief ministers of his party. What is this relationship called?” she remarked.
