Chandigarh, August 23

Wrestler Vinesh Phogat met with former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his family in New Delhi on Friday amid speculation that she may join the Congress and contest the coming Haryana Assembly poll.

“Had a family meeting with the daughter of the country, pride of Haryana, our sister Vinesh Phogat and her husband Somveer Rathi at our Delhi residence,” Congress’ Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda posted on X after meeting the ace wrestler.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
