Kurukshetra: The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kurukshetra University, has been selected as the host institute (HI)/business incubator (BI) by the MSME, Government of India. Dr Nikhil Marriwala, head, ECE Department and in-charge of the project, informed that a proposal was applied by the UIET for HI/ BI online to the MSME and to the Government of India for further approval to get the grant in support for the plant and machinery of Rs1 crore. With the approval of the project, the plant and new machinery will be installed to promote increased startup activities. Giving information, Director UIET and Dean Engineering and Technology of Kurukshetra University Prof CC Tripathi said this centre would provide all facilities for startups under one roof.

21 faculty, scholars felicitated

Faridabad: Continuing its efforts to enhance research quality, and to foster research culture, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, on Monday gave away JC Bose excellence ‘2nd research awards’ to 21 faculty members and research scholars to give recognition to their research work. The award comprises a certificate of merit, and cash prizes between Rs 50,000 and Rs 5 lakh are given for the publication of research papers in the science citation index (SCI) or science citation index expanded (SCIE) research journals listed as per the university research policy. The research awards were distributed at a function organised in the online mode by the university and cash rewards were given for 17 selected research papers authored by the faculty and research scholars of the university during 2019-20.
