What our readers say: Admn turns blind eye to cow dung dumping
AREAS adjoining kapaas mandi near Birbal Nagar in Narwana have become cow dung dumping grounds, thanks to a number of illegal dairies functioning there. The owners of such dairies dump cow dung with impunity, while the authorities concerned have been turning a blind eye towards it. Additionally, the waterlogged and potholed roads, cow dung strewn around various sites and garbage littered along the roads, which are common sights here, present a picture of neglect on part of the local authorities.

Ambala struggling after rain, civic authorities must act
A recent spell of rain left Sector 9, among other areas, in Ambala city inundated. Due to the non-functional sewerage, rainwater has accumulated at many places. The waterlogging has left the stray cattle bewildered, leading to a rise in attacks on people. These cattle have entered the streets of the sector, seeking respite from rainwater. It has become difficult for people, especially women, senior citizens and children, to move around in the sector alone because of these cattle squatting in the middle of the streets. Thursday night’s rain threw the normal life out of gear in the city. The local administration must act urgently, without waiting for any untoward mishap to occur or directions from political parties.
