SANITATION workers still toil in inhuman conditions, exposed to filth, disease and danger. Waste dries into toxic dust or seeps into rainwater systems, only to resurface in manholes. Why not adopt mechanical extraction to protect both workers and the environment? It’s time to end this disgrace!

Sweet sellers flouting rules in Narwana

AS per the FSSAI rules, it is mandatory to display the date of manufacturing and expiry on every tray of sweets. However, barely any sweet seller seems to obey this law. Often, sweets are displayed in the open, where dust and flies contaminate these. Shopkeepers not only sell adulterated and expired sweets but also weigh the box along with the sweets, which is also against the law. The administration should challan such ‘halwais’ and ensure that only fresh and good quality sweets are sold to customers.
