Books being sold at exorbitant prices
Since new academic sessions in schools are about to start, parents are queuing up at book stores to buy text books, note books, stationery items, school bags, school dresses and a lot of other stuff, which the book stores are selling at exorbitant prices. The books and dresses are available only at certain outlets, authorized by respective schools. Parents of nursery schoolgoing children have to buy books price ranging between Rs 2,500- 3,000 depending on the school and publishers. The administration should initiate steps to frame certain guidelines for book stores and schools, so that hapless parents are not fleeced that way. —Ramesh Gupta, Narwana
