RECENTLY, I travelled from Karnal to Ambala Cantt on the Haryana Roadways bus, which runs from Faridabad/Ballabgarh to Chandigarh. I observed the driver frequently using his mobile phone while driving, thus operating the bus single-handedly and putting the lives of over 50 passengers at risk. I urge Anil Vij, the Transport Minister, to implement a ban on Haryana Roadways drivers from carrying mobile phones

while driving buses.

Y’nagar, Jagadhri struggle with parking woes

THERE is a major parking problem in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. Many people park their vehicles haphazardly on congested roads, causing traffic jams and inconvenience for commuters. The Municipal Corporation authorities should take urgent action to address this problem and improve parking arrangements in these areas.

Authorities urged to relocate unauthorised dairies

THE Municipal Corporation occasionally conducts drives to shift unauthorized dairies from residential areas of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri to designated dairy complexes. However, these drives are often stopped after limited action is taken. Dairy owners continue to dispose of cow dung openly, posing a health hazard to local residents. The Municipal Corporation should take decisive steps to permanently relocate these unauthorized dairies.
