Lately it has become a fashion to organise "mass marriages" of poor orphaned girls by charitable organisations by spending a huge amount of money. Politicians and religious gurus remain eager to bless them. But, in reality, it's a big scandal as most of the so called 'couples' are already married. Some get together just to perform 'marriage' and pocket what they get. Nobody bothers to know the whereabouts of brides and grooms. In larger interest of society, such sham mass marriages should be stopped. . Ramesh Gupta, Narwana

Composting system needs to be promoted

There is a need to promote composting system that can be started from school. Students can bring organic waste from their homes and the waste can be collected in a composter with some specific ingredients. This way, organic compost can be formed in a month. The compost can be provided to government farms for organic farming. I hope this helps in increasing organic composting in our country.. Noor Gandhi, Kaithal
