The authorities of Municipal Corporation have failed to shift unauthorised dairies from the residential areas of the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. The MC authorities start drives to shift such dairies, but these campaigns do not continue for long. Dairy owners throw cow dung in the open, posing a health hazard to residents of the area. The MC authorities should look into the matter and ensure that such drives are prioritised.

Saving water need of the hour

AT my locality in Kaithal, I have many a time seen water continuously spilling out from tanks. People often ignore how important it is to save water for the present and future generations. I have also noticed shopowners let water run from tap. It is high time we utilised water in a judicious manner. Noor Gandhi, Kaithal

No chairman/member at human rights commission

The Haryana Human Rights Commission, which is considered to be the best in the country, is now dependent on the state government for its own rights. The commission neither has a chairman nor any member for the last 14 months. All posts are now vacant and the work has come to a standstill, the brunt of which is being borne by people of the state. Despite the order issued by the high court to the government to make new appointments on the petition filed in this regard, the government is not taking the matter seriously. The CM is requested that the appointments of the chairman and members be made at the earliest. Shakti Singh, Karnal
