THE railway overbridge (ROB) project near the old courts complex here has taken more than six years so far and might take one more year to complete, looking at the slow speed of construction. It has led to inconvenience to residents due to traffic diversions and restricted access to pedestrians, disrupting daily lives of people living on both sides of this ROB. The contractor should speed up the job so that people could heave a sigh of relief.

Digging of road causing problems

Regarding the issue of digging of road of the Urban Estate 2, which was published in this esteemed newspaper recently, residents of the area expressed stiff resistance against digging the road during the monsoon season, but the contractor did not pay heed and went on carrying the digging work. Due to this hurriedly taken decision, when the rain poured on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, the water was seen accumulated in many spots of the newly rebuilt road, thereby confirming that the construction of road was perfunctory and uneven. The Municipal Commissioner of Hisar should admonish the contractor and direct him to level the downward spots.
