The district administration has intensified efforts to lift the procured wheat from grain markets. According to the latest data, nearly 76 per cent of the procured wheat has been lifted, while payments have been made to 73 per cent of the farmers so far.

Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has directed procurement agencies to ensure immediate lifting of the remaining produce from the mandis (grain markets). Notably, the farmers receive payment only after their grain reaches the designated warehouses, making prompt lifting a crucial step in the process.

The wheat procurement in the district is being handled by three government agencies — the Food and Supplies Department, Hafed, and the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation — at a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,425 per quintal across 10 mandis.

“As of now, a total of 1,95,032 metric tonnes (MT) of wheat has arrived in various mandis across the district, out of which 1,75,277 MT has been procured by the government agencies. So far, 1,32,707 MT of the procured wheat has been lifted from the mandis. Similarly, the payment has been made to total 17,501 farmers so far,” Dahiya pointed out, noting that the procurement was still underway.

Dahiya provided a detailed breakdown of arrivals in various mandis: 50,811 MT in Jhajjar, 10,698 MT in Badli, 10,007 MT in Dhakla, 41,050 MT in Beri, 25,177 MT in Matanhail, 31,360 MT in Majra D, 11,600 MT in Chhara, 737 MT in Bahadurgarh, 7,960 MT in Asauda and 5,632 MT in Patoda.

He emphasised the importance of coordination between officials and procurement agencies to avoid space shortages and delays. “Timely payment and swift lifting must go without any delay. Officials have been asked to improve storage planning and monitor the lifting process closely,” he said.

The DC also directed market committee officials to ensure all essential amenities were available for the farmers in the mandis, ensuring they did not face any inconvenience during the procurement season. Dahiya instructed the officials concerned to regularly monitor the lifting process and submit status reports regularly.
