JJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has stated that Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat was not eligible for the Rajya Sabha as she had not attained the age of 30 years as of now.

“However, we will support the candidature of Olympian medallists Sakshi Malik or Bajrang Punia if they are eligible,” said the JJP leader, adding that the Congress should propose the name of any of them. Dushyant, who was in Rohtak today to attend the executive meeting of his party, maintained that the JJP would field its candidates from all 90 Assembly segments of the state.

Accusing CM Nayab Singh Saini of making false announcements, the JJP leader maintained that many of the crops for which Saini had announced MSP were not grown in Haryana. He remarked that former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who was seeking ‘hisaab’ from the BJP government, should also explain the instances of grabbing land from farmers and indulging in nepotism while being in power. — TNS
