Addressing the villagers, Arti said the entire Ahirwal region was dear to her, but Ateli had given her family a distinct identity in the state and country by taking them forward in politics.

“My grandfather Rao Birendra Singh became the CM on being elected MLA from the Ateli region and in 1977 my father Rao Indrajit Singh too contested the first election from Jatusana and the Kanina area was part of this Assembly constituency at that time. Therefore, the Ateli region holds a special significance for my family,” she added.

Arti promised the villagers that she would raise the issues of Ateli and South Haryana prominently at Vidhan Sabha in Chandigarh. During the poll meetings, people felicitated Arti by garlanding her, presenting a turban and weighing her with fruits and laddoos.
