Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a former CM, has said the Congress would take up the collapse of civic services and law and order in the state as primary issues in the ensuing civic elections.

“The BJP neither built any university here, or any thermal plant nor any big industry or project was established. During the Congress tenure, many development works were undertaken here. The already approved Hisar international airport was also shifted out of here and the state BJP government remained a silent spectator,” he said.

“The party will also highlight the poor condition of roads, sewerage and cleanliness and the collapse of law and order,” Hooda said.

Addressing a press conference in Hisar, he said it had been more than 100 days since the BJP had come to power for the third time, but it had not fulfilled its election promises.

“During the BJP tenure no new railway line was laid, nor was the Metro taken forward. No big university, thermal plant, industry or project was established in the state," he added.
