The police have arrested an alleged tout under the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PNDT) Act in Jagadhri city of Yamunanagar district. According to City police station SHO Virender Singh, the accused has been identified as Usha of Ambala.

He said she was on Saturday produced before a court in Jagadhri, which sent her to judicial custody. According to information, the Health Department (Ambala) had received information that the accused was actively involved in sex determination activities.

A Health Department team then requested a pregnant woman to pose as a patient. The woman reached out to the tout, who allegedly took the decoy patient to a private hospital in Yamunanagar for a sex determination test on Friday night. The woman was caught by a team of the Health Department (Yamunanagar and Ambala districts) with Rs 4,000.
