In a Facebook post on Sunday, congress candidate Gokul Setia shared a video allegedly showing Kanda arguing with Sub-inspector Rajbala.

The tension escalated on Saturday when Setia accused polling officials of allowing voting to continue past the official time of 6 pm and alleged that cash was being distributed inside the booth to buy votes. Setia, along with his supporters, reached the booth and argued with polling officials.

Police officers and polling staff present denied these allegations, but Setia and his supporters continued to argue.

The situation became volatile when supporters of Kanda arrived at the booth, leading to a verbal confrontation between the two groups. The police had to use mild force to disperse the crowd as tensions threatened to boil over.
