Woman, daughter killed in Karnal road accident

A 30-year-old woman of Uttar Pradesh and her four-year-old daughter were killed and her husband sustained critical injuries as a truck hit their motorcycle near Malikpur village in the district today. The truck driver fled from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle at the place.

The deceased were identified as Rinki and her daughter Gagandeep, residents of Sampla village in Shamli district in UP. Her husband Yogender Singh was critical and undergoing treatment at a hospital. As per the family members, Yogender was serving in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

They were going to Rinki’s parental house in Panipat on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, but the truck rammed into their motorcycle, killing the woman and her daughter on the spot, the police added.

The police impounded the truck and registered a case against the truck driver for negligent driving.
