A 32-year-old woman died while a man was seriously injured in a road accident near Gwal Pahari on the Gurugram-Faridabad road on Thursday morning.

The accident occurred when the car they were travelling to Faridabad from Gurugram in collided with a pole after an animal suddenly came in front of the vehicle.

The injured man is being treated at a hospital.

His medical examination confirmed that he was driving the car under the influence of alcohol.

An FIR was registered against him at the DLF Phase 1 police station in this regard.

According to the police, the man has been identified as Kartik, a resident of Faridabad. He had come to Gurugram on Wednesday night to party at a club with his friend, Manisha, a resident of Madangir in Delhi.

While the two were going to Faridabad on Thursday morning at around 5:30 am, the car collided with a pole.

A police team reached the spot and rushed the man and the woman to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared the woman dead.

The Investigating Officer, ASI Jogendra Kumar, said, during the medical examination, Kartik was found to be drunk.

The families of the man and the woman were informed about the incident, and body of the woman was handed over to her family after a post-mortem examination.
