A woman was killed and her son sustained injuries when their motorcycle was allegedly hit by another two-wheeler on the Jagadhri-Paonta Sahib national highway near Bombeypur village.

The deceased has been identified as Jannat (55) of Bagpat village in Yamunanagar district.

Momin of Bagpat village said he and his mother Jannat were going to attend a marriage function in Uttar Pradesh, yesterday.He said when they reached near Bombeypur village, their motorcycle was hit by another motorcycle coming from the opposite side.He further said they fell down and sustained injuries.

His mother, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to a hospital, where she was declared brought dead.The police have registered a case against a person at Pratap Nagar police station.
