Four miscreants opened fire at a man and his mother after entering their house at Durga Garden Colony in Jagadhri.

Amit Kumar, alias Babu, and his mother Meena Rani sustained bullet injuries in the incident. Both of them have been admitted to the Yamunanagar Civil Hospital.

The victim, Amit, told the police that Jony Poswal and his younger brother Ankur operate a finance company from Durga Garden. He said someone broke windshield of their car and they suspected his involvement.

He said as he was standing near his house on February 27, Ankur threatened him with dire consequences alleging that he had broken windshield of their car.

“My mother and I were sitting in my room at around 9 pm. Manni, Purshotam, Varun and Hunny entered our house. They were having illegal country-made pistols in their hands,” Amit told the police.

He said Manni opened fire at his mother and a bullet hit her in the right arm. He said Varun opened fire at him and a bullet grazed his head. He claimed that Purshotam and Hunny also opened fire at them.

After getting information, DSP Rajiv Miglani reached on the spot and said two persons had sustained bullet injuries in the incident.

The DSP said they had booked the miscreants and the teams would nab them soon. A case has been registered against Manni, Purshotam, Varun, Hunny, Jony Poswal and Ankur at the Sector 17 police station, Jagadhri.
