Prof Sudesh’s term as the Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalya Vice-Chancellor was extended by three years on Wednesday.

The decision has been taken by Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, the Chancellor of the varsity, in accordance with the Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalya Act, 2008.

The extension was made effective on March 5. The original tenure of the VC ended on March 4. While taking charge as the Vice-Chancellor again, Prof Sudesh expressed her gratitude to the Governor, Chief Minister, Education Minister and the state government for the appointment.

She said every possible effort would be made to take the university to new heights by faithfully discharging the responsibility given to her once again by the state government.

The VC said the developmental work under way at the university would be expedited.
