Women’s panel hears 12 cases in Panipat, stresses zero tolerance for negligence

Haryana State Commission for Women chairperson Renu Bhatia held a public hearing at the Mini-Secretariat in Panipat on Thursday, addressing 12 complaints related to women’s issues.

Speaking to the media, Bhatia said, “The Women’s Commission is committed to delivering justice. We take every complaint seriously and ensure fair hearings.”

After hearing both parties in several cases, she directed the police to conduct prompt inquiries. She emphasised that no negligence will be tolerated in matters concerning women.

The complaints were filed by individuals including Lalita, Kavita, Santosh, Sabakhan, Dharmbir, Ombir, Ruksar, Shimla, Asha, and Shaina. In some cases, the chairperson suggested reconciliation, urging complainants to seek mutual resolution.

“We always make efforts to provide justice to women — and we have succeeded in many such cases,” Bhatia added.

Later, she held a coordination meeting with Mayor Komal Saini, Zila Parishad councillors, and municipal officials. During the session, Bhatia called on elected representatives to keep special watch against child marriages in their areas and to promote awareness among girls, especially in slums and educational institutions.

District Child Marriage Prohibition Officer Rajni Gupta administered an oath to all elected members to prevent child marriages.

Senior officials including Dr Kiran Chaudhary (CEO, Zila Parishad), DSP Satish Vats, and DSP (Traffic) Suresh Saini also attended the event.
