Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPSMV) at Khanpur Kalan has been awarded a grant of Rs 20 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) initiative.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Sudesh expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narender Modi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for the grant.

Prof Sudesh said the Prime Minister would digitally launch the projects associated with this grant. The launch would be held via video conferencing on February 20 at the conference hall adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor’s office.

The VC said the Union Ministry of Education had approved the PM-USHA programme in continuation of the erstwhile RUSA scheme, for funding the state government universities and colleges to help them achieve the aims of equity, access and excellence. Prof Sudesh said the grant would play a significant role in strengthening research and academic growth of the women’s university.
