Prof Sudesh, Vice-Chancellor, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPSMV), has been honoured with the national women leadership award for her contribution to women education and empowerment.

Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra, presented the award to Prof Sudesh for her leadership abilities at a function held on Sunday in New Delhi.

The award session was presided over by Delhi High Court judge, Justice Dharmesh Sharma.

The event was organised by Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti, in collaboration with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority on the occasion of International Women’s Day celebrations.

VC Sudesh said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the women’s university was committed to providing employment-oriented education to girl students.

On the occasion, Dr Seema Dahiya, chairperson, law department of BPSMV, was awarded the national legal awareness award.

Dr Archana Malik, HOD of history and archaeology department at BPSMV, also won the second prize in the national suggestion competition for the prevention of violence against women.
