The training and employment cell and the Department of Commerce of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) successfully organised a two-day workshop on “Financial education for young citizens”.

The workshop commenced with a welcome extended by Officiating Principal Dr Pratima Sharma, who greeted resource persons Rajeev Jain and Jalaj Jain, from the NISM. Dr Jaswinder Kaur, head, Department of Commerce, introduced speakers and highlighted the importance of financial literacy for students. Dr Rajinder Singh Vohra, coordinator, training and employment cell, emphasised on the growing need for financial awareness among the youth to prepare them for a financially secure future.

Dr Ashok Khurana presented overarching themes of the workshop, while setting the tone for engaging and insightful sessions. During workshop, Rajeev Jain delivered an informative talk on saving, investments, NSE, BSE, mutual funds, risks in investing and other relevant topics aimed at educating young citizens about financial planning and investment opportunities.
