Yamunanagar MC challans 7 shopkeepers

Under the Haryana Shahri Swachhta Abhiyan, the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) is conducting several activities to make the twin cities clean and beautiful.

The MCYJ teams are catching stray cattle, taking action against those who spread filth in the open, cleaning chowks, roads, dividers, drains, empty plots and removing bushes grown on the roadside.

Under the drive, the teams of the MCYJ challaned six shopkeepers for spreading filth in the open and one shopkeeper for using banned polythene on Jagadhri Workshop road in Yamunanagar. Besides, the team of the MCYJ also caught 11 heads of stray cattle from the Jagadhri area and took them to gaushalas.

According to information, on the instructions of Commissioner of the MCYJ Mahabir Prasad, special cleaning of every ward of the MCYJ was being done under the leadership of Special Officer Anil Kumar Yadav and Additional Municipal Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar. The authorities of the MCYJ have formed three teams to take action against those who encroach, sell banned polythene and spread garbage in the open.

Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh has been given the responsibility for wards one to seven, CSI Vinod Beniwal for wards eight to 15 and CSI Anil Nain for wards 16 to 22. All three teams are taking action in their respective areas. As per available information, a team led by CSI Vinod Beniwal reached Jagadhri Workshop road.

The team inspected the workshop road from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk to Maharana Pratap Chowk.

During the drive, the team allegedly found six shopkeepers dumping garbage in the open. The team issued challans to those shopkeepers and collected the amount of fine from them on the spot.

They were also instructed not to throw garbage in the open and to use dustbins for throwing garbage.Banned polythene was also recovered from a shopkeeper. The MCYJ team challaned him on the spot, too. Special officer Anil Yadav said that under the Haryana Shahri Swachhta Abhiyan, the MCYJ was making efforts to make twin cities clean and beautiful.

“Efforts are being made to make the twin cities garbage and encroachment-free,” said Anil Yadav.
