The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has geared up to achieve top position in Swachh Survey-2025.

In this connection, Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad held a meeting with officers and sanitation inspectors of the MCYJ and officials of Swachh Bharat Mission.

At the meeting, he directed the officials to improve the aspects in which the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri lagged behind in the results of Swachh Survey-2024 and to do better in Swachh Survey-2025.

He also directed to work as per every point shown in the tool kit of the Swachh Survey.

At the meeting, Additional Municipal Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar provided information about the work being carried out by the MCYJ for the Swachh Survey. At the meeting, various Swachh Survey points were discussed in detail. These points included door-to-door garbage collection, zero-waste wards, city beautification, wonder parks, slum area cleaning, public toilets, sewage treatment plants, wall painting, citizen feedback, awareness programmes, separate vehicles for e-waste collection, honouring Swachhta Champions, action to ban single-use plastic items and dustbins in open spaces. The Municipal Commissioner instructed all officials to work on these points on the ground.

“The Swachh Survey is scheduled to be conducted in a few months. I urged all officials to be fully prepared and work to bring the twin cities to the top spot in cleanliness,” said the Municipal Commissioner.

He instructed officials of the MCYJ that no vehicle should be allowed to approach the garbage plant, uncovered.

He asked for practical implementation of the points outlined in the Swachh Survey toolkit. He also asked the officials of the MCYJ to make Ward 7 a zero-waste area.

He further asked the officials that all dustbins should be numbered in the twin cities.

The Municipal Commissioner instructed the officials of the engineering branch of the MCYJ to clean and transport construction and development (C&D) waste to the designated location. He also instructed them to maintain all public toilets falling under the MCYJ area. He further issued instructions that the employees and sewer men should work wearing complete PP kits.The Municipal Commissioner instructed the sanitation officers and the officials of Swachh Bharat Mission to organise a clean ward competition in every ward.

He said in the contest, the cleanest and most beautiful ward would be honoured. He said awareness rallies should be organised on cleanliness with the help of Municipal Councillors and residents of the wards.
