Yamunanagar, February 23

The government will develop new airstrips in Yamunanagar, Nuh and Rohtak districts. Besides, feasibility studies are being undertaken for the construction of helipads in Yamunanagar, Jind, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Palwal, Rohtak, Kurukshetra and Sonepat districts.

The process for identification of land and its procurement would be initiated through e-Bhoomi portal in 2024-25.

The Chief Minister also announced the construction of an 800 MW thermal power plant in Yamunanagar. “I am happy to state that the tender for the construction has been awarded recently to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited at a cost of Rs 6,900 crore. A memorandum of understanding has also been signed by the Haryana Power Purchase Centre with Mahanadi Basin Power Limited, a Central public sector enterprise, for the procurement of 800 MW power from a pit-head thermal power plant proposed to be set up in Odisha,” he informed.
