Yamunanagar to beautify, renovate Dasehra ground
Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), will renovate and beautify the Dasehra ground located in Model Town, Yamunanagar, at a cost of Rs 53.23 lakh.
Effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhakaran are burnt on the ground on Dasehra every year.
Besides, a number of administrative, social, political, religious and other programmes are also held on the ground.
Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Mayor Suman Bahamani laid the foundation stone of the development works in the park.
On the occasion, Municipal Councillor of Ward 8 Vibhor Pahuja, mandal president of the BJP Aman and other persons were present.
Bahamani said a new track would be built after demolishing the damaged old track.
She said new benches, streetlights, dustbins and other arrangements would also be made by the MCYJ.
She further said trees on the ground would be trimmed and flower plants would be planted to make the entire park beautiful.
“I have given instructions to the officials of the MCYJ to carry out development work in the park at a fast pace. They have been asked to pay special attention on the quality of work. In case of any negligence on part of officials will not be tolerated,” said Bahamani.
Arora said the triple engine government was developing every city and village keeping public interest in mind.
“A network of roads is being laid in the country and the state,” said Arora.
He said development works worth crores of rupees had been done in every ward of the MCYJ area.
He further said development works were being done in every ward of the MCYJ to give good basic facilities to the residents of the twin cities.
“Estimates are being prepared for new development works in the MCYJ area,” said Arora.
He said a park would be built by the MCYJ on nine acres near Hamida Head in Yamunanagar.
“Parks are being beautified in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. Our cities are emerging as a tourist hub. A number of projects, including beautification of the three main roads of the twin cities, construction of open air theatre and auditorium, several community centres and stormwater drain are under progress,” said Arora.
