Under the guidance of Additional Municipal Commissioner (AMC) Dheeraj Kumar, the students participated in the plog run, collecting plastic wrappers, bottles and other waste from the park, thus promoting the message of a clean and healthy community. The children also set an example of waste segregation by collecting different types of waste in separate bags.

Similarly, in Jagadhri’s Sri Nagar Colony Park, local residents cleaned the park as part of the plog run. AMC Kumar said that the Municipal Corporation’s primary objective was to inculcate hygiene habits in children, keep public spaces garbage-free and increase citizens’ sensitivity to environmental protection.

“Through the plog run, attendees were also encouraged to maintain cleanliness in the park and always dispose of garbage in the designated dustbins,” said Kumar.

Akash Kumar, Durgesh Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, school Principal Om Prakash, Mukta Kaushik, along with other teachers and employees of the Municipal Corporation, were present during the drive.

Akash Kumar said various activities were being regularly organised in all wards under the Swachh Survekshan 2025.

“The MCYJ has assigned schoolchildren the role of cleanliness guards, who will spread the message of cleanliness,” said AMC Kumar.

“Students and senior citizens strongly supported the cleanliness drive of the Municipal Corporation,” added Kumar.
