After the Railway Road, other roads of the twin cities Yamunanagar and Jagadhri will also be made non-vending zones. People have to face a number of problems daily as there is a traffic jam on several roads in the twin cities due to rehris parked on the road side.
According to information, under the drive, a team of the MCYJ removed rehris/hand carts parked on the roadside from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk to Railway Station Chowk.
The team led by Chief Sanitary Inspectors Vinod Beniwal and Anil Nain removed the vendors from areas of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Geeta Bhawan, Paper Mill Gate and New Market, to ensure that the Railway Road became a non-vending zone. As per available information, the Railway Road is one of the busiest roads in Yamunanagar. Most of the vehicles heading towards Saharanpur, railway station, Radaur road market, Meera Bai Bazaar, New Market, Purana Hamida and other places, pass through this route.
Therefore, the presence of street vendors and goods kept at various locations along the route often leads to traffic jams. According to information, a committee has been formed to create vending zones and non-vending zones in the twin cities and identify places for creating new vending zones. This committee will work to create vending zones and non-vending zones in the twin cities. Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad recently held a meeting with members of the Town Vending Committee and decided to declare Railway Road a non-vending zone. Thereafter, the MCYJ initiated the removal of street vendors from the Railway Road.
The Municipal Commissioner said the MCYJ was making efforts to make the twin cities organised and beautiful.Nain said the problem of traffic jams would be solved by creating vending and non-vending zones .
