A youth was killed when his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a truck near the Sadar police station, Jagadhri.

The deceased has been identified as Vashu of Telipura village and he was a student of Class XI.

According to information, Harsh of Madhuwala village of Yamunanagar district was going with his friend Vashu on a motorcycle towards Jagadhri side at about 6.10 pm on Thursday. Harsh was driving the motorcycle and when they reached near Sadar police station, Jagadhri, a truck allegedly hit their motorcycle from the rear side.

Vashu fell down on the road and he sustained serious injuries in the accident while Harsh had a narrow escape as he fell down on a non-metal (kutcha) area of the road.

After getting information, the police reached the spot immediately and took the injured to Civil Hospital, Jagadhri where the doctors declared Vashu dead.

Tarsem Kumar, SHO, Sadar police station, Jagadhri said after the postmortem at the Civil Hospital here, the body was handed over to his kin.

He said that a case had been registered against the unidentified truck driver under Sections 281 and 106 of the BNS at the Sadar police station.
