The incident was reported to the Kundli police on December 4, 2023. In his complaint to the Kundli police, the complainant, a native of Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, said his minor daughter went to buy vegetables from the market here on the evening of December 3, but did not return home. Following the complaint, the police registered a case in this regard and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The police recovered the girl, aged around 15 years, from the Barota area on December 29. After the victim’s medico-legal examination, the police added rape sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in the case.

During investigation, the police arrested the suspect, identified as Rashid of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh, who was living in a rented accommodation at Barota. The police produced the suspect in the court.
