A 30-year-old man, identified as Inderjit, was shot dead after a minor altercation at a wedding function at Peethadwas village here on Friday night. The police have begun an investigation after registering a case against three persons in this regard.

The crime was perpetrated when Inderjit engaged in verbal duel due to some reason with the accused who then opened fire on him from a close range. Injured Inderjit was rushed to a hospital where he died while the accused fled the spot. Inderjit’s family members in a fit of anger blocked the road at Gopal Dev Chowk on Saturday morning demanding arrest of the accused immediately. The police managed to pacify them, assuring them that the accused would be nabbed soon. “We have booked three persons ,” said SHO, Rampura police station.
