The deceased has been identified as Tarkeshwar (34), a resident of Rahsoon Ganj in Kishanganj district of Bihar.
The injured labourers have been identified as Lalu Kumar (24) of Birwa, Kishanganj district, Bihar; Dinbandhu, a resident of Dhumli in West Champaran, Bihar; and Balkeshwar (35), also from Dhumli.
The police said that the slab-laying work on the first floor was in progress on Thursday evening. Tarkeshwar was reportedly checking the shuttering while other workers were pouring the concrete mix. Suddenly, the shuttering gave way, causing tonnes of sand, gravel and concrete mixture along with the metal framework to collapse onto the workers below. Fellow workers rushed to rescue Tarkeshwar and the others from the debris and immediately took them to the Medical College, Chamba, in an ambulance. Despite efforts, Tarkeshwar succumbed to his injuries.
