10 IPS officers appointed Special DGs, Special Directors

Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS officer of 1994 batch Rakesh Aggarwal and his batchmate from AGMUT cadre Anurag Kumar are among the 10 police officers who have been appointed as Special Director Generals and Special Directors by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) in various Central Armed Police Forces and Intelligence Services from various cadres.

Aggarwal, who is currently an ADG in NIA, has been appointed as Special Director General in NIA on in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post for a tenure of two years.

Kumar, an Additional Director in Intelligence Bureau (IB), has been appointed as Special Director in the same agency on in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post for a tenure of two years.

Apart from these two, seven other IPS officers of the same batch (1994) have been upgraded to higher posts.

Only Zaki Ahmad, who is an IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, belongs to the 1993 batch. He has been appointed as Special Director General, CRPF till date of his superannuation i.e. March 31, 2028.

The other seven 1994 batch IPS officers whose posts have been upgraded are:

Anupama Nilekar Chandra, currently ADG in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), has been appointed as Special Director General in SSB on in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post for a tenure of two years.

Deepak Kumar, an ADG in CRPF, has been appointed as Special Director General in CRPF on in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post for a tenure of two years.

Raja Srivastava, currently ADG in CRPF, has been appointed as Special Director General in CRPF till date of his superannuation i.e. February 28, 2029.

Amit Kumar, also an ADG, CRPF has been appointed as Special Director General in the same organisation till date of his superannuation i.e. October 31, 2030.

Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, currently ADG, BSF, has been appointed as Special Director General, BSF till date of his superannuation i.e. March 31, 2032.

Vinayak Prabhakar Apte, currently Additional Secretary IB, has been appointed as Special Director, IB on in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post for a tenure of two years.

Manmeet Singh Narang, also an Additional Director, IB, has been appointed as Special Director, IB.
