To ensure ample drinking water to the town during the monsoons, Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) has started storing water in a newly constructed tank at Dhalli. It has the capacity to store 10 Million of Litres Per Day (MLD) of water.

The SJPNL will be able to provide additional water in case the supply gets hampered due to an increase in silt in Giri and Gumma, the main sources of water supply to the town. Mayor Surender Chauhan, along with officials of MC and SJPNL, visited Dhalli and directed officials to start storing water in the tank.
